Microsoft Surface!

This is something I find to be totally awesome.  This is Microsoft’s Surface, an interactive tabletop that’s far more than just a smart touchscreen.  I was always a fan of the tabletop arcade machines and the Surface takes that concept far beyond gaming to allow for integration into any environment (whether it be home or retail or whatever) and make it awesome, for lack of a better term.  The fact that it interacts not only with the user (via touch: intuitive and immediate) but it also interacts with the user’s physical artefacts (like phones, cards, cups, etc), which usually involves entering ref IDs or something indirect (not automatic).  I think the potential for this type of user-friendly digital-to-real-world technology is huge.
