Interactive Vandalism

In the public space, good graffiti can be a powerful and relevant way to convey messages that are particularly responsive to current events or trends. One inspiring project is called TXTual Healing where a projector, computer, and mobile phone are all connected together and hidden away in an enclosure above the street. The user can then txt messages to the unit and have it cleverly displayed on virtually any surface.

Think about all the ways graffiti could be expanded and the different ways everyone, not just those in ‘illegal subcultures’, can participate in spreading their own messages. Similarly, Graffiti Research Lab has a bunch of cool projects involving high powered guerilla projections like their L.A.S.E.R. Tag interactive install, which by the way also has an Instructable if you want to get started right away!
